ADVENT WINDOWS
Here’s something different for this December…
We are planning to create in Burpham a village-size Advent Calendar - windows around the village decorated with the themes of Christmas carols and songs.
Would you like to take part by hosting a window?
They would be 'opened' in turn each evening at 6:30pm between 1 December and Christmas Eve, making an Advent Trail around the village. At ‘openings’ there may be refreshments (mulled wine and mince pies, and perhaps some carol singing). All to get us in the Christmas spirit!
Nothing elaborate is needed - just light up a window with a design that speaks of a carol or song. For safety’s sake for people to gather in the dark December evenings, your house / shop and window would need to be easily accessible and towards the central part of Burpham.
If you are interested, please get in touch with
James Hanson / Lisa Scott (01483 825533 / office@burphamchurch.org.uk) who will give you more detailed information, including suggestions for dates, carols and songs if you need.
In order to ensure everyone knows their date in good time to plan their window, we need to know by mid-October that we have enough participants - so we would be very grateful for quick responses please.
