We’re recruiting.
Burpham Church is a close-knit family Anglican church, seeking to be with Jesus and share his good news with the whole community of Burpham.
We have exciting opportunities to connect with children and families weekly and monthly - on Sunday mornings, though our Lego church and ever-growing links with local schools and preschools. We have a small but committed team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers who serve in this ministry.
What we are missing is someone to help lead and reimagine our work with children, families and households, and develop our ministry intergenerationally, as we seek to grow each other in our personal journey of faith. And to help us reimagine what being his church in this community looks like.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Lead the sense of belonging, pastoral care and discipleship of children and families.
  • Oversee and equip a team of volunteers both for working alongside families and also in partnership with the community.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with local schools and preschools, reaching out to the whole community.
  • Work with the incumbent to reimagine and integrate all generations into a new way of being and doing ministry between generations in the life of the church
Who we’re looking for:
  • A committed Christian who loves Jesus and children and families, keen to reach out deeply into the community and to see them grow in faith and be full participants in building the Kingdom of God.
  • Experience in leading or teaching within children’s / families’ ministry, and the ability to encourage and train volunteers and households in growing sticky faith.
  • Someone with good organisational and communication skills who can work independently and within a team.

The post is full-time, with a competitive salary, pension and 30 days holiday.

An Occupational Requirement exists for the post-holder to be a practising Christian. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. The role is only open to someone who already has the right to work in the UK.
